Ubisoft Montreal announces F2P MMORPG The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot

The acclaimed Ubisoft Montreal studio decided to take a break from epic triple-A productions – at least part of it – and just announced the first free-to-play game from the studio. Curiously titled The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot, you can already see that this is a game that doesn’t take itself too seriously. You just need to look at the announcement trailer to corroborate this.

The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot is a game of two halves. In one you go all Diablo, attacking the other players in hack and slash fashion, while in the other it’s tower defence time… or better, castle defence time. The player has to create and improve his castle, populating the rooms with all kinds of monsters, traps and bosses, but you’re limited by the amount of gold you have. Basically, this means that the castle will also gain experience as your character does. At the moment, only a couple of characters are announced, the Knight and the Archer.

We would go so far as to say that The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot is inspired by some great games and we even see a little bit of Dungeon Keeper in the way that you have to stop your enemies from looting your castle, so we hope this is good.

The closed beta is expected in October, so keep an eye on http://www.themightyquest.com.
