Hawken: PvE confirmed, co-op apparently planned

hawken is shutting down

Despite being one of the most anticipated free-to-play games of 2012, Hawken won’t just settle for a competitive experience, according to developer Adhesive Games.

Creative director Khang Le told PCGames that there is the strong possibility of a PvE mode at launch. Le adds that this mode is almost like a shooting gallery, where players get to shoot countless waves of “stupid robots”, acting as a way to get players familiar with the arsenal.

As for a co-op mode, Le seems to be interested in such an idea, with “a bunch of players fighting together to destroy a giant beast”, citing Lost Planet. However, he mentioned the studio would expand the game when they have more time and money.

Hawken is scheduled for December 12, 2012.
