Top 5 Free Action RPG Diablo like Games

Were you disappointed by Diablo 3 or simply couldn’t afford it? Then you’re in luck, since we have five free-to-play action RPGs that can easily entertain you for months. A large number of players even say that our number one – which we won’t reveal right away – is exactly what Diablo 3 should have been all along. So, here’s our Top 5 Free Action RPG Diablo like Games:

5 – AKANEIRO: DEMON HUNTERS

American McGee is still doing some crazy combinations, which are probably the result of smoking some weird stuff. Akaneiro: Demon Hunters takes the little red riding hood fairytale and mixes it with Japanese folklore and a visual style reminiscent of Okami. It looks good, plays nicely and deserves an attentive look.

4 – MARVEL HEROES

David Brevik, creator of Diablo 1 and 2, decided to take the Marvel characters and mix them with the Diablo template. In Marvel Heroes, players will control a hero and take on several popular villains. It’s imminently playable, but customization is limited and combat may be flashy but isn’t very exciting. One for the superhero fans but hopefully it will get much better with future updates.

3 – KINGSROAD

KingsRoad is a Facebook game so it’s probably just social garbage, right? Wrong. This is, actually, a fine action RPG, smooth, soft on the eyes and offers challenges to all types of players. While there’s no PvP at the moment, co-op is a wonderful affair and makes a good game infinitely better.

2 – DRAKENSANG ONLINE

We knew that Drakensang Online was shaping up to be a good action RPG but this game surpassed our expectations, even more considering it is browser based. It looks pretty good for a browser game, offers a freely explorable game world and combat is exciting enough. There are some concerns about the cash shop though, so if you don’t plan to spend a dime then you’ll be locked out of a lot of options and items.

1 – PATH OF EXILE

Path of Exile, or the game that everyone is saying that Diablo 3 should have been, is an amazing surprise created by a bunch of action RPG enthusiasts that had shit to play and decided to develop their own game. The result is remarkable, dark, gruesome, and features one of the most ´what the fuck?!’ skill trees ever seen in video gaming history. And so far the developers are staying true to their word of not letting micro-transactions ruin the gameplay balance – let’s hope they keep it that way.
