Starcraft 2 is going free to play in a couple of weeks

starcraft 2 free to play

Out of nowhere – or better, out of BlizzCon 2017 -, there's a new big game going free-to-play: Blizzard's Starcraft 2. The switch will happen on November 14, 2017, which means it's less than a couple of weeks away.

But what does the fine print says? The Wings of Liberty Starcraft 2 campaign is going to be free, but if you already own this one, you'll get the Heart of the Swarm campaign if you claim it between November 8 and December 8, 2017. You can purchase additional single-player campaigns individually ($14.99 USD each) or together in the Campaign Collection ($39.99).

As for the competitive part of Starcraft 2, free players also have access to Unranked and Versus AI for free, as well as to all Commanders up to level 5, with Raynor, Kerrigan, and Artanis being free beyond level 5.

Definitely not a bad way to end the week, don't you agree? For more details head over to the Starcraft 2 website and watch the announcement video below.
