World of Tanks: Mercenaries update releases this month on consoles

World of Tanks: Mercenaries update

Mercenaries is the new update coming to World of Tanks on June 26 exclusively on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox 360, so no luck for PC fans. Mercenaries brings an alternate reality to Wargaming's shooter and a new story campaign with the exclusive Trinity tank.

The Heist is the name of the campaign where a motley crew of Mercs will take on the combined might of the world's two biggest superpowers. This update 4.5 also brings the Mercenary faction, the first in World of Tanks without any associated nation, and made up of parts scavenged from different vehicles. You can expect five vehicles at launch, with more coming in the following weeks. The maps in Mercenaries are some fan favorites, but sticking with the alternate reality nature of this update, they will appear ravaged by war and time. More maps will be released later on in the same style.

The way you earn new tanks is by completing Mercenary contracts. By completing these you earn new vehicles that you can use in online multiplayer matches. On the other hand, there is the option to buy out the contract and earn the tank without going through the challenge.
