Ascent: Infinite Realm returns with three new screenshots

Ascent: Infinite Realm returns with three new screenshots

It's been quite some time since Bluehole gave us some news on Ascent: Infinite Realm. After a shaky but interesting reveal, A:IR went undercover for some months. Now we get three new screenshots to remind us that development is live and well.

The three screens show the steampunk fantasy world of Ascent: Infinite Realm in a bright light, and it's difficult not to feel excited to see more of this. There seems to be some Skyforge inspirtation to it (although A:IR features a more bleak color palette) and Cloud Pirates for the aerial combat. The images even come with short descriptions for some added context.

“The Sunsetville Outskirts Defense is the first official Expedition Crew mission for any Child of Star who has reached adulthood.”

“You must ride the airship and check if there are any threats in the skies of the outskirts of Sunsetville. The airship is equipped with a powerful machine gun. Use the machine gun to fight off the enemies who are threatening Sunsetville.”

“The final Boss can then be found on one of the small islands and needs to be defeated without the help of the handy board cannon.”

Now that is a fear-imposing boss, isn't it? Bluehole hasn't mentioned the business model for Ascent: Infinite Realm, but the developer of TERA and PUBG could go either way. However, with Kakao Games as the publisher, A:IR could go the Black Desert Online way and release as buy-to-play. We'll have to wait and see.
