Free Titanfall Battle Royale Apex Legends officially revealed and released today

Free Titanfall Battle Royale Apex Legends

The rumor was obviously going to turn out to be true. Electronic Arts and Respawn have just announced Apex Legends, a new free-to-play Battle Royale set in the Titanfall universe. As it turns out, Respawn wasn't working on Titanfall 3, the studio was actually developing this game for PC (via Origin), PS4 and Xbox One, to be released… er… now.

Oddly enough for a game based on the Titanfall universe, there are no titans on Apex Legends. Instead, this is a Hero Battle Royale, as you get to pick from eight Legends. However, two of them are locked and you can either unlock them through gameplay or by reaching out to your wallet. Respawn says that Apex Legends is free-to-play and you can play as much as you want, but there will be several options for cosmetic purchases.

Comparisons to Overwatch (characters) and Fortnite are inevitable, but we'd like to throw Cliff Bleszinski's LawBreakers up there as well.

Take a look at a couple of gameplay trailers below. If Apex Legends interests you, the official website is the place to go.
