Genshin Impact PS4 beta revealed as final closed test approaches

Genshin Impact PS4 beta

For the first time, gamers will get to experience the Genshin Impact PS4 beta, miHoYo has announced. The registration for the final closed beta test is now open on the official website, with the time frame being set for Q3 2020. The exact date will be revealed in the coming weeks.

With the first Genshin Impact beta impressing players in PC and Android devices, the second test in March 2020 saw iOS gamers joining in on the fun. Now, another platform enters the fray, the PlayStation 4, leaving only the Nintendo Switch for a later date.

For this final closed beta, the devs are teasing us with the inclusion of a cross-platform co-op mode, a first for the game. This allows players on PC, PS4, and mobile platforms to join forces and team up against enemies and challenges. Knowing the strength of the elemental interactions in Genshin Impact, where fire, water, electricity, wind, geo, and others create amazing chain reactions, the co-op mode is surely going to bolster the appeal of this promising anime RPG.

New quests are also promised for the upcoming beta, but sadly there's no word for now regarding the reveal of the third city. So far we've known Mondstadt and Liyue Harbor, but the remaining five cities are yet to be revealed. This doesn't mean that we don't get to see another city in this beta, so keep your fingers crossed.

“We are thrilled to see that players all around the world had a blast in Genshin Impact's last Closed Beta while offering valuable feedback on various aspects of the game. We plan to implement some changes and optimizations in the Final Closed Beta based on what we have heard and learned,” said Hugh Tsai, Genshin Impact's producer. “The cross-platform co-op mode is an important component of Genshin Impact, and it will be a core part of the Final Closed Beta experience. We are very excited to see how players react to the team-oriented gameplay.”

While Genshin Impact can be described with words, moving pictures make a much better job. Watch our impressions from the second closed beta test below and let us know if you're looking forward to the Genshin Impact PS4 beta test.
