With the release of the 1.4 version update Invitation of Windblume, Genshin Impact adds a new kind of story content. Called Hangout Events, these are permanent and repeatable quests similar to story quests, but featuring dialogue choices and different endings. Some are comparing it to dating sims and visual novels due to the choices and the possibility of reaching an abrupt and unexpected ending to the story, but thankfully you can retry and reach another ending, of which there are several. Barbara, Bennett, Noelle, and Chongyun are the first characters to feature in Series 1 of the Hangout events. Barbara Hangout Event Unlock Requirements:

• Adventure Rank 26 or higher
• Finish the quests from chapter Song of the Dragon and Freedom
• Two story keys

This is the Barbara Act 1: Wellspring of Healing guide, which will show you how to reach the five different endings – beware, because some choices will result in cutting the story short, but those are not considered a proper ending. There's a Heartbeat Value meter that will affect the event – if it drops too low, the quest will end. Each time that you unlock an actual ending, you get a Hangout Memory illustration of the Traveler and the story character.

You need two story keys to unlock each Genshin Impact dating sim… I mean, Hangout Event. Players can replay the entire event or just parts of it without the need for additional story keys.

Follow the quest instructions to jump to the next dialogue choices – we'll only mention the options at your disposal, leaving all the questing and running to you. Some dialogue choices have the same effect, but we'll list them here anyway for the sake of continuity. To reach the other endings, you can just jump straight to a branch that you have previously completed and continue from there – we'll do that in this guide to simplify things for you.
