BattleBeasts is almost like Guardians of the Galaxy: The Survival Sandbox Game

BattleBeasts Survival Sandbox Game

Russian developer One2 is working on BattleBeasts, a free-to-play online multiplayer shooter with RPG elements, in particular survival sandbox aspects such as a housing system.

What attracted me the most to this game was the Guardians of the Galaxy vibe. A quick look at the raccoon character should be enough to bring memories of the foulmouthed but kindhearted Rocket Raccoon from the movies. In fact, the trailer seems to show that the in-game character also has a love for heavy weaponry and even a jetpack. Coincidence? He's a bit taller, though.

BattleBeasts isn't all about raccoons, however; the game is about sentient beasts such as foxes and tigers, for example, fighting for survival after escaping from a space prison. They have to survive in an abandoned space base and apparently grouping together will give some of them a better chance of survival. There are vehicles to use such as futuristic hover bikes and buggies.

Right after the trailer you can watch 10 minutes of gameplay from the previous alpha, which is good enough to see a pretty game (runs on the Unreal Engine 4) but still very buggy. The next alpha will take place from December 16 to December 18, and the Steam page is live if you want to check it out.
