Phantasy Star Online 2 open beta begins

After an eternity of waiting, the Phantasy Star Online 2 open beta begins today for every Xbox One owner in North America. After a short closed beta that was very well received, the open beta will open up the gates for thousands more who have been eagerly waiting for this anime MMORPG. The beta begins at 6PM PDT, and hopefully you downloaded the client yesterday, since Sega made a pre-download available.

The PSO2 open beta will allow you to play with four races and nine classes, dipping your feet into the main story. However, there are various side activities for you to try, including the casino games and probably fishing. What's up with the love for fishing in MMORPGs?

Phantasy Star Online 2 releases during the spring for Xbox One, with the PC version coming later this year. It feels somewhat unfair, but let's not forget that if it weren't for Microsoft's gamble, western players probably wouldn't get this game at all.
