PUBG drops the lawsuit on Epic Games’ Fortnite Battle Royale

PUBG lawsuit Fortnite Battle Royale

PUBG Corp. has decided to drop the lawsuit that it filed against Epic Games and Fortnite: Battle Royale in January. You know, the one that everyone was only aware of in May.

The developer and publisher of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, previously known as Bluehole Ginno Games, decided to withdraw from this lawsuit, sending a letter to Epic Games' attorneys on Monday. There is no further info on this situation, so we're left wondering if PUBG Corp and Epic Games reached a settlement or if something else lead to this decision. In a way, this seems like a good thing and both studios may eventually continue to cooperate in amicable terms – PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds runs on the Unreal Engine, developed by Epic Games.

PUBG Corp. is still moving forward with its other lawsuits against NetEase and its two Battle Royale games, Knives Out and Rules of Survival.
