Rising Thunder closes after Riot Games buys Radiant

Rising Thunder is no more. Riot Games, makers of League of Legends, have acquired Radiant Entertainment and in the process killed the free-to-play fighting game that was being developed by ex-Capcom's Seth Killian with the aim of becoming big at eSports. The Rising Thunder team will start working on a new game that they will reveal “when the time is right”. The robot fighting game will be closed on March 18, 2016. The other game from Radiant is Stonehearth, the 16-bit inspired town building game, which will see its development go on, alpha after alpha.

It's sad to see Rising Thunder come and go so quickly, so let's hope Riot Games puts the talent of the newly acquired team to good use.
