Survarium is the first game from Vostok Games, a name that may be unknown to many except those who enjoyed the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series and couldn’t wait for the sadly canceled S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.
The new studio is comprised of ex-GSC Game World employees who decided to develop Survarium as a free-to-play MMOFPS with elements of RPG. The best of all is that the post-apocalyptic setting, where an ecological catastrophe led to a devastated world where parasites and decay take over the Earth, can easily be compared to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.
Now, Vostok Games revealed the second developer diary where players may learn about some elements of the game, along with the first landscape screens. Although the diary settles mostly for the obvious details (a character with five skills, perks…) it’s interesting to learn that there’s a reputation system (S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fans rejoice) and to discover the game modes.
Survarium is scheduled for the end of 2013, so fingers crossed so that no real ecological catastrophe hits us in the meantime.
