Escape From Tarkov’s first gameplay shows promise
Escape From Tarkov isn’t a mystery anymore – the first gameplay footage is out there and all STALKER fans probably jumped for joy during the entirety of the video. Coming from an unknown studio, Escape From Tarkov is actually looking really good, nailing the setting and mood that STALKER fans are so much in love with, and the shooting also seems pretty decent, with a weapon modding system that looks impressive. Of course, we didn’t see much of the survival part of this MMO besides all the shooting going on and the beautiful environments, so we have to wait to see more of it. There’s no news on the business model so far, but by the time the closed beta begins in Q1 2016, there should be more info.
First Need For Speed Edge gameplay revealed
The first Need For Speed Edge gameplay was just revealed, taken from the Korean closed beta. It looks good and seems to be exciting enough, but we’ll probably never know. Yes, this is one of those Asia exclusive games, oddly enough for a Need For Speed game. Anyway, Need For Speed Edge entered closed beta on November 26, runs on the Frostbite 3 engine and is published by Nexon. Maybe it will eventually release in North America during 2016, but we wouldn’t keep our hopes up.
Albion Online enters closed beta
Albion Online is finally in closed beta. Yes, we’re not kidding, this sandbox MMO isn’t in alpha anymore. Sadly, most of you still can’t play it though. After what seemed like an eternity in alpha, the cross-platform sandbox MMORPG Albion Online is in closed beta. Many features were added during 2015, including laborers, a land auction system and the classless combat was improved. However, to join the beta you still have to grab a key or buy a Legendary, Epic or Veteran Founder’s Pack. The official release is planned for early 2016 on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android.
Devilian is in open beta for a few days
The hack and slash MMO Devilian is now in open beta, albeit a really short one – hurry, join it now before it’s gone forever! Actually, we may have overreacted a bit. While the beta ends on December 6, the official launch is planned for December 10, so it’s not like you’ll have to wait a long time before playing Devilian. And you should, because it’s a pretty fun game despite a few niggles. It’s also heading to Steam, if you prefer it that way.
First Assault could release this December
Nexon’s Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex – First Assault Online could launch in December, if we’re to believe the new Steam page. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex – First Assault Online is the ridiculously long name for a seemingly simple first-person shooter that could be releasing in December 2015, according to the Steam page info. There are no details on what kind of release is this – it could be early access or some kind of beta – but we won’t have to wait for long.
Path of Exile: Ascendancy expansion adds 19 subclasses
The impressive hack and slash game Path of Exile is getting even better with the launch of the Ascendancy expansion early 2016. Ascendancy will bring stuff such as puzzle rooms with deadly traps that would make Indiana Jones proud. There’s also Emperor Izaro to face on several occasions, but the best of the expansion are the 19 new ascendancy classes. Each base class has three ascendancy classes, except Scion which for some reason we can’t grasp has none. So, for example, the Duelist can evolve into a Slayer, Gladiator and Champion.
War’s Onset expansion brings Pantheon Wars to Skyforge
War’s Onset is the latest update for the sci-fi fantasy MMORPG Skyforge and there’s real money to be won. Yay! The big feature of the update is the Pantheon Wars, where Pantheon guilds battle against one another in massive battles. The first Pantheon War begins later this month. The initial prize pool for the upcoming tournament is $15,000 USD and this could increase as special tournament packs are sold. These packs include Pantheon Wars themed Costumes and Titles, Tactical Sense Replicators, Variatrons and more.
‘Find the Game’ Quiz
This episode’s quiz is not about peace and love, but more about plenty of kicking and punching in the face in this new game. Actually, it’s robots fighting, so no one gets hurt, there’s only scraped metal. The first one to write the answer in the comments will see his name featured in the next Free to Play Unlimited episode.
Most Wanted: HeroWarz
Elsword Online developer is bringing HeroWarz to western territories. This is a pretty fun, chaotic action RPG with some oddly appealing characters. HeroWarz goes for the isometric approach that is proving so popular recently with games such as Devilian and ELOA. However, things are a bit crazier and lighthearted in this game, which is actually doing great in Korea. You’re watching some gameplay now but as we know just how many of you love anime and HeroWarz recently got an awesome anime trailer, we’ll end this most wanted with it. Grab the popcorn, make yourself comfortable – but not too comfortable – and let’s go.
