Albion Online: now with better food and potions

With the Albion Online closed beta fast approaching, Sandbox Interactive has overhauled another game system, this time the consumables and potions systems. What this means is that you like to farm and cook your own food or brew your own potions – in a totally non-witchy kind of way – then this has just got a little bit better.

You can grow food yourself on farmland and breed animals for raw meat, gathering ingredients for tasty meals which will give you certain buffs for a period of time, such as ealth regeneration outside of combat, increased crafting speed, and bonus combat damage. For example, you can make a soup, salad, pie, stew, omelette, or if you're in a hurry, a nice, tasty sandwich. Foods come in three different flavors, or tiers, in fact.

As for potions, they give your character an instant but stronger benefits like a short heal over time effect, short energy boost, strong increase in defence values and others.

You can read more about this on the official Albion Online blog.
