Nexon’s Astellia looks like TERA, closed beta sign-ups announced

Astellia MMORPG

Update: It was in fact the closed beta sign-ups that would open on June 1, while the closed beta begins on June 20.

Original article:

Nexon has a new PC game in the works for a few years now – the MMORPG Astellia. Powered by the Unreal Engine 3 and not shying away from comparisons with TERA or Bless Online (this one also runs on the Unreal Engine 3), Astellia looks decent enough but the visuals are revealing of the long development time, so you shouldn't expect any graphical wonders.

A couple of new trailers were released and we get to know that the first Korean closed beta begins on June 1, 2017. The third video is from November 2016 and shows quite a few good minutes of pure gameplay so you can get a good idea of this game.

Astellia's gimmick is the Astell system, with players having to collect and use several cards in a TCG mechanic. You can summon companions from these cards in battle, with each Astell having its own skills. Apparently you can only summon two Astells at the same time, but this number could change in the meantime if developer Barunson E&A sees that it improves gameplay.
