Blue Protocol is Bandai Namco’s stunning anime online RPG

Blue Protocol anime RPG

It's with unconcealed excitement that I bring you today news of Blue Protocol. This is the new online RPG from Bandai Namco and a PC exclusive, something that isn't so common for the Japanese studio.

Developed by Bandai Namco's Project Sky Blue using Unreal Engine 4, Blue Protocol is a stunning anime game that… may or may not be free-to-play – that is yet to be seen. But I can't shake the comparisons with Genshin Impact – albeit vastly superior graphically – and KurtzPel's action combat. Let's not forget about Phantasy Star Online 2 as well, which we'll get to play in 2020.

Obviously, Blue Protocol features a world on the brink of destruction, the usual excuse for you and your friends to unite in a memorable adventure against remarkable foes. You can expect four classes for now: Aegis Fighter, Twin Striker, Spell Caster and Blast Archer.

Blue Protocol is having its first Japanese closed alpha test on July 26, ending a couple of days later on July 28. Only 5,000 players will be accepted and one of the conditions is to live in Japan. Bummer.

The official website has more info on this first alpha, as well as the system requirements. Watch the gorgeous Blue Protocol announcement trailer below.
