This War of Mine and Moonlighter are free on the Epic Games Store

This War of Mine Free

The Epic Games Store has recently started another round of free gaming goodness. Up until now we were used to getting a new free game every week or so. But now, Epic Games is turning things up a notch with two games on offer.

They're not scrapping the bottom of the barrel either. You can get two great games until August 1 for free: the acclaimed war survival simulation This War of Mine; and Moonlighter, a pixel-art rogue-lite action RPG where you play the role of a shopkeeper with dreams of becoming a hero.

Starting August 2, another pair of great games will be up for grabs. One of those is Alan Wake, Remedy Entertainment's acclaimed horror action game.  The free game includes the DLCs The Signal and The Writer. Funny enough, the rights of this series have  reverted to Remedy, which means that the developer is free to work on Alan Wake 2 if it so desires – the studio already tried it about two years ago, but things didn't work out.

The other free game coming soon is Ubisoft's medieval warfare game For Honor. If you like Knights, Vikings, Samurai WuLin in massive battles, this is a great game for you.

The previous free game at the Epic Games Store was Limbo. PlayDead's classic side-scrolling platformer adventure is a game that everyone should play at least once – so that you can move on to the vastly superior spiritual follow-up Inside.
