Cryptic Studios is hiring for the Magic The Gathering action MMORPG

Magic The Gathering action MMORPG

It's been a while since we last heard from Cryptic Studios' Magic The Gathering action MMORPG. The most recent news date from past April, when an Environmental Artist working on Neverwinter: Undermountain revealed that he was going “downstairs” to help the Magic The Gathering team.

It was almost an accidental reveal, or one intentional leak, whatever you choose to call it. But it was proof that development marches on, despite the original announcement dating from 2017 – it feels like it was ages ago.

Now, Cryptic Studios took to Twitter to say that it is hiring. The bulk of the job offers is for Neverwinter and Magic The Gathering, with the latter in need of a content designer, a few artists, producers, and even a QA test analyst.

While it is somewhat reassuring to see that development on the Magic The Gathering action MMORPG continues, we have to wonder just how far into development Cryptic Studios is at this point. With character artists and animators to be hired, it sounds like the game still is in a very early stage.

Let's hope that it won't take another year before we finally get to see a screenshot or some gameplay footage.
