Heroes War: Counterattack Tier List Guide | Best Mercenaries to Recruit

Heroes War: Counterattack Tier List

Heroes War: Counterattack is the latest hero collector from Com2uS, makers of the worldwide hit Summoners War: Sky Arena. Unlike the vast majority of the games in the same genre, you don't recruit new heroes through a gacha system; instead, you hire them according to specific conditions, the most common being a price tag consisting of 1200 diamonds. However, you can unlock other mercenaries as you complete story missions and side quests. Still, there's a gacha summon feature that shouldn't be underestimated, since it rewards you with mercenary skill and rage cards, crucial to enhance the potential of your units. But with dozens of mercenaries to recruit, you must focus on the best ones, and our Heroes War: Counterattack tier list guide will tell you who they are.

Heroes War: Counterattack Tier List Tips

Heroes War: Counterattack Tier List Irina

The first thing that you must pay attention to is the role of each mercenary. Each hero is versed in one of four roles: ranger, supporter, dealer, and tanker. Your full team supports five mercenaries, so you have to choose wisely according to the offer, with units divided into two factions: Union and Harz. This detail isn't relevant to your decision, it is mostly tied to the lore of the game.

However, heroes have affinity stats which result in boosts during combat, such as increased attack, health upgrade, or experience upgrade, among others. It's worth keeping an eye out for these groups of mercenaries as the advantages may turn out to be invaluable.

Don't underestimate the value of enhancing your heroes' power through all means, because without it they will never reach their true potential. Use boosters to raise their level, skill cards and rage cards to unlock boosts, equip and upgrade gear, and upgrade each role's abilities. Only then you will be able to see which heroes stand out from the crowd. For this, it's recommended that you frequently check our Heroes War: Counterattack coupon codes guide.

Heroes War: Counterattack Tier List Mercenaries

If you follow the tips above – which are commonsense, really – you should be able to do just fine with the mercenaries below. As it always happens, this is based on personal experience and opinions from other players, so it isn't guaranteed that these are the only choices that will work for you. The tier list is pretty much prevalent for both PvE and PvP, so you shouldn't have to make many changes to your squad.

S Tier

These are the best characters in the game and you should definitely try to recruit them as soon as possible. Equip them and if they have the corresponding SSR cards, the results will be visible.

IRINA RANGER
Irina

Irina is the ice princess in Heroes War: Counterattack – not that there are many to begin with. Still, she is one force to be reckoned with, much thanks to her freezing abilities. With her ultimate Ice Spineflower she is able to deal damage to a random enemy and freeze him for two turns, a perk that is extremely valuable.

POPO SUPPORTER
Popo

Probably the best healer in Heroes War: Counterattack, and you know just how much you need one of these in any team. Popo may not look like much, but his ability to recover allies' HP while dealing damage is great, and his debuffs are also worth going through the trouble of leveling him up.

SCARLET RANGER
Scarlet

Don't be fooled by her androgynous looks; Scarlet is a top-tier mercenary. She is a great ranged damage dealer with a high chance of deploying the immovable effect for two turns, and another skill also grants the stun effect. Her Fire Rain ult makes arrows rain from the skies.

ANTON DEALER
Anton

Anton is a solo man by excellence. Boost his powers and you'll see him charging ahead, with no fear whatsoever. His blind effect skill is nothing short of impressive, but he is overall a great damage dealer unit.

MURPHY RANGER
Murphy

Another S-tier ranger that you should consider for your team, in case you like to form a party with at least two good long-range units. This machine is no Murphy's Law, or perhaps it is for its enemies. With its cannons and time-bombs, it is your very own Iron Man.

A Tier

In this list you'll find some good all-round units, but their effectiveness depends on your devotion to their skills. Some of these could replace one or two S-tier units, so it's advised to see which one is best suited to your needs.

We're entering into a field where there the positives can be compared to the negatives. Give these a shot if you like the abilities of a particular unit, or if you are fond on the design – because hero collectors aren't just about battle effectiveness; they're also about stylish characters to brag about.
