Phantasy Star Online 2, now with more dead website?

Phantasy Star Online 2 canceled

Does anyone still remember or is hoping for a western release of Phantasy Star Online 2? Are you really that optimistic? Well, here's some more bad news.

A Reddit thread is mentioning that the official English website is down, but in all honestly, it's the entire domain that is down, not just the US subdomain. Obviously, the few players who are still hoping for a western version fell to their knees and started crying, but this is pretty much a dead and buried topic to us.

Could this represent the actual ending of PSO2 hope? Is the actual game (in Japan, for example) in some kind of trouble? Why is my back aching so much today?

All of these questions could eventually be answered if Sega had any kind of communication regarding Phantasy Star Online 2. The best they could do was saying that PSO2 was delayed in 2015, which is underwhelming. The SEA version shut down in May 2017, so what could be happening?

Do you think this is the end of hope for PSO2 in North America and Europe?

Maybe your back pain is because you’re a bit under the weather.

    • That is my guess exactly, thank you! It’s a bit colder these days and I woke up with this unusual pain.

I have the greatest readers in the world! 😀

If they would just come out and say it’s cancelled then it would be nice. It’s this weird limbo “delayed” thing that Sega JP won’t stop doing that annoys me so much.

    • It’s like they still have any hope for the game. They’re just being unprofessional.

Unprofessional doesn’t even begin to describe SEGA. They’ve been this way for years, ever since they shut down PSO1, which was one of their most profitable ventures here in the west. They’re just completely incompetent.

  • If we oly could get a “it’s cancelled” or actual news , now they’re just leaving us hanging , like someone saying “hey hold on , ill be right back !” then tha person never comes back , and we stay there … waiting …

    • Sega is acting as the douchebag that says “I’ll be there, hold on” and then never shows up. xD

SEGA is the cancer of the gaming industry. Their upper management is filled with incompetent dickheads. They wouldn’t see profit even if a clue landed in their lap.

Instead of releasing what would probably their most profitable venture into the west, they release the least profitable games here, like freakin’ Sonic games and other unwanted games that nobody bothers picking up.

I hope they go bankrupt and that some developer with an upper management with at least half a brain picks up the PSO franchise license and release it in the west.

    • Konami applauds this post effusively.

I wouldn’t go that far, but yes, it surely was a missed opportunity and they could have said something about it already.
