News:

New Fortnite gameplay video
Epic Games is hard at work on Fortnite and released a new video showing some gameplay of this action building game. This MineCraft meets Team Fortress 2 online game could turn out to be one of the most addictive things that you’ll get to play – hopefully – later this year. Currently in alpha, you can try your luck by signing up at the official website. Fortnite runs on the Unreal Engine 4 but it won’t be the game to showcase the power of this new engine. On the other hand, we’re hoping for some in-depth building to be the sheer force of this game, along with the fun shooting action.

ArcheAge first closed beta begins July 17
Just as Trion Worlds recently announced, the ArcheAge closed beta is about to begin, but it will only last a few days. The first closed beta of this ambitious sandbox MMORPG begins Thursday, July 17 and ends Monday, July 21, so there’s not a lot of time to see much of this sprawling game. You can perhaps go gliding, engage in some naval warfare and chop down some trees, but we would certainly enjoy a bit more time to explore the game world. If you didn’t get a key you can always buy a founder’s pack, if you’re really dying to get into this game right away.

TERA Rising getting level cap expansion and new continent later this year
TERA Rising is getting a level cap expansion and a whole new continent later this year, En Masse Entertainment has announced. Developer Bluehole Studio made the original announcement saying that the Korean content update should release later this month. As for North American players, the update is expected before the end of 2014, but this is just an estimate. Along with the level cap increase to level 65 and the opening of the Northern Arun continent, which will host the fourth largest city, you can also expect new instance dungeons including a competitive instance, guild competition for seasonal guild housing and a few more additions.

Firefall official launch scheduled for July 29
For a while, we had a strong candidate to the longest time in development award: Firefall. But that is about to end with the official launch on July 29th. Red 5 Studios’ first game, the free to play shooter Firefall, is finally seeing release on July 29th and with the largest update that the game has ever seen, quadrupling the amount of world space and adding roughly 15-times the amount of content that players could try during the beta. Firefall will include the usual microtransactions, with cosmetic and convenience upgrades available. You’re watching a bit of the launch trailer right now.

‘Find the Game’ Quiz

Talk about stepping out of your comfort zone – a studio used to develop roleplaying games and known for its storytelling abilities is working on an explosive action game. This one should go up against a huge free-to-play hit, so the battle will be fierce. The first one to write the answer in the comments (here or on our YouTube channel) will see his or her name featured in the next Free to Play Unlimited episode.

Most Wanted: Dragon Slayer

Dragon Slayer is the new MMORPG from the makers of Aura Kingdom and it’s definitely going the Monster Hunter Online way. I guess that calling it Monster Slayer would be pushing it a bit too far!

X-Legend Entertainment, makers of Aura Kingdom and Eden Eternal, are working on Dragon Slayer, a game with a concept similar to the popular Monster Hunter series. Players will step into the shoes of hunters and will take down several types of monsters and collect materials for crafting items. There is also the option to climb on the back of some monsters to take them down. There will be companions and mounts to use as well. The four first playable classes were already revealed: Cleric, Warrior, Ranger and Wizard. X-Legend claims that there will be over 200 monsters to be captured and used as mounts in air, land and sea. The first test phase of Dragon Slayer begins this month in Taiwan. Considering that Aeria Games brought Eden Eternal and Aura Kingdom to North American and European players, we’re hoping this could also happen with Dragon Slayer.
