News:
Revelation Online Stardust update releases on April 12
Revelation Online’s first major expansion should be out by the time you’re watching this. Stardust is the name and wackiness is the game. Stardust includes the crazy Faerie’s Funland map, an amusement park where players become part of a living board game in which the tiles represent various mini-games within the game – there’s even a dice to roll. The expansion also includes the Guild vs.Guild map Starshatter Island where players battle for control of four crystal mining points, with a maximum of 400 players at the same time.
TERA’s new class Valkyrie comes with the Honorbound update on April 11
TERA has just received the Honorbound update and with it comes a new class, the Valkyrie. You can begin your whining and bitching about this being another female exclusive class in 3, 2, 1… The Valkyrie was going to be called Paragon but phew, we managed to dodge that one. She is a female Castanic and wields a massive and deadly runeglaive. In other news, TERA is coming to PS4 and Xbox One in 2017, which means that the PC version is still hanging in there after all these years.
Master X Master closed beta live, reveals Founder’s Packs
Master X Master is NCsoft’s Heroes of the Storm, if you know what I mean. If you don’t, then let’s just say that this game uses some of the most popular characters from the studio’s franchises. In Master X Master you get to pick two characters from a roster of original and iconic names, some of them from games such as Blade & Soul, Aion, Guild Wars 2, Lineage or City of Heroes. You switch between the two at any time and use some action-based controls to progress in a co-op campaign, or enter in the usual MOBA-like PvP battles. We don’t get tired of saying that this is one fun, polished action game that tries to please two very different crowds and manages to do so. Give it a look if you can before the closed beta ends on April 27, otherwise you’ll have to wait for the open beta.
Hunter X Online is a new MMORPG based on the Hunter X Hunter manga
We thought for a while: should we let you know about this game or not? Heck, why not? Hunter X Online exists, it’s based on the Hunter X Hunter anime and it’s just like every other browser-based MMO out there. We’re yet to take a good, nice look at Hunter X Online, but everything points to it being in the same style of Naruto Online, Dragon Ball Z Online and other MMOs suspiciously inspired by popular anime franchises. Recruit some heroes, enter automatic battles, rinse and repeat for days while resisting the temptation of clicking on all those flashing icons offering amazing promotions. But hey, we could be wrong and it could actually be a nice little game for you. Let us know what you think of it.
Orcs Must Die! Unchained gets a release date and Sabotage mode
Orcs Must Die! Unchained is finally stepping out of Early Access and officially launching on April 19, with a new update as well. The free-to-play launch comes with a major update that includes the new game mode Sabotage. This 3v3 game mode brings a new way to play Orcs Must Die! Unchained. Sabotage is a head-to-head mode where one team has to defend their rift, while the opposing players will occupy an ‘alternate reality’ version of the same map that your team can’t see. Both teams have to fight their opponents and protect the rift, with the team that ends the match with the most rift points winning the challenge.
Battlerite free week is live
Definitely a lot of good stuff happening right now, but here’s one more for you: Battlerite is having a free week, so watch this show until the end and then go play it. Battlerite is one of the best MOBAs around for a few months now, but just like every other game of the genre, some players get saturated and move on to other greener pastures. The fact that it will only be free-to-play later this year is also a problem for its playerbase, hence the free week where the game could get a nice player boost and some more sales. Go brawl for a while until April 16, when this free week ends.
‘Find the Game’ Quiz
This sequel has just shut down and oddly enough, the first game is still around since its original Japanese release in 2008. How could we describe the game to you? Well, let’s say that it has a lot of shooting and plenty of waifus. The first one to write the answer in the comments will see his name featured in the next Free to Play Unlimited episode.
Most Wanted: Dropzone
After a brief stint on early access, Dropzone is now free-to-play and open to everyone out there with a love for MOBAs, Mechs and mayhem. Dropzone offers 1v1, 2v2 and the recently added 3v3 mode with its mechs, or battle rigs as they are called in this game. There’s a great level of customization to your rigs and the battles are fun. The big problem with the game is that there are very few players online and that is enough to kill any multiplayer game, no matter its quality. Hopefully the switch to free-to-play, which was planned since the early development stages, will get more players online and make Dropzone truly reach its potential. In such a crowded genre, however, we’ve already seen many good games fall and we’re hoping that this isn’t the next in line.
