Agents: Biohunters is a new free to play hero shooter, beta coming soon

Agents: Biohunters hero shooter

Agents: Biohunters is the first game from Spanish studio Playstark. Founded in 2016, it set out to create this third-person hero shooter and is now aiming to introduce it to the eSports community in 2019. This game is free-to-play and the full PC release will happen in 2019, with the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions coming at a later date.

Agents: Biohunters features combat between two teams of agents, with the ultimate goal of capturing the huge Rognar creature that roams the map. There are currently six agents with unique skills and abilities to choose from: April, Cormac, Elon, Hune, Rido, and Witta.

This game attempts to mix PvE and PvP mechanics, in a way that other shooters such as The Cycle or Hunt: Showdown are doing. The monster hunting part will be the player-versus-environment, while the usual hero shooter staples will make up the PvP part of the matches.

The press blurb says that some players are comparing Agents Biohunters to games like Motiga's beautiful but ill-fated Gigantic, Blizzard's Overwatch, and Capcom's Monster Hunter. We would add Rocket Arena to those names as well, because of the obvious graphical similarities and hero shooter mechanics, although Final Strike Games' title uses a first-person perspective.

The first closed beta for Agents: Biohunters is coming soon. It will be a short one, slated to start and end on September 22, from 4pm to 10pm UTC. To get an invite you have to sign up at the official website, and it looks like everyone who signs up will get a key to join the beta.

Being a free-to-play shooter, there are Founders Packs available for purchase on the official website.
