Is Spellbreak Cross-Platform | Does it Support Cross-play?

Is Spellbreak Cross-Platform

Spellbreak is one of the most interesting action games of 2020, promising to deliver magic-focused battles to every Harry Potter fan or not. Instead of following the big-hitters in a fight that is lost at the start, it tries to put a unique spin into the battle royale genre. This spin is the spell combination, which delivers some surprising and jaw-dropping results. Spells create elemental effects, which means that you can experiment to discover the best tactics for your character class. Spellbreak is going to be free and that's a big plus, but is Spellbreak cross-platform as well?

Is Spellbreak Cross-Platform on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch?

Is Spellbreak Cross-Platform

Set for a late 2020 release on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, Spellbreak is the kind of game that lives and dies on the strengths of its player base. Few players and starting matches will be a problem, but a healthy player base translates into easy matchmaking and tons of fun.

Thankfully, developer Proletariat spared no efforts in making Spellbreak cross-platform from day one. Spellbreak supports cross-play right from the start of official launch, as CEO Seth Sivak said:

“From the start, we wanted to make sure that it would be as easy as possible for Spellbreak players to play with their friends, and making the game free-to-play helps us reach that goal,” said Seth Sivak, CEO of Proletariat, Inc. “Going free-to-play and ensuring the game will be cross-play on day one reinforces our goal of making sure Spellbreak will be accessible to as many people as possible.”

Instead of having to wait months or years to get cross-platform play support, such as it happens with Apex Legends and Warframe, Spellbreak is cross-play right from the official launch. No matter your platform of choice, your battlemage is going to aim its spells at players from different platforms as well.
