MapleStory 2 English officially announced, closed beta begins next month

MapleStory 2 English beta

Following on the somewhat telling breadcrumbs that we've been reporting for quite some time now – including job offers and English voice and music samples -, Nexon has just announced the English MapleStory 2 release during the first-ever MapleFest in North America.

With the official English MapleStory 2 announcement comes the closed beta date. In fact, you won't have to wait too long, as Nexon is already launching the beta on May 9 and ending on May 16. It's a mere week but should be enough to give you a nice taste of the game. Sign-ups are only open from April 14 until May 6, so hurry up. The client will be available for download on May 7.

Despite being the “English” release, Nexon is serving the game in several territories all over the world. Besides North America and Europe, players from several regions from Africa, South and Central America, even Australia are able to play MapleStory 2. Not bad considering how everyone likes to whine about Nexon being a fan of IP-Block.

By now, you probably know what MapleStory 2 is all about. This is the sequel to one of the most renowned MMORPGs ever made – and it is still going strong – and tries to put a new, isometric twist in the cute characters and diverse gameplay. You can battle, have fun with friends in several minigames, build your dream house and much more.
