News:

Bless Online is canceled in NA and EU, developer Neowiz confirmed
If you’re waiting for Bless Online, you’d better sit down and try doing some breathing exercises – what we have to say isn’t good. Bless Online‘s North America and Europe releases have been canceled by Aeria Games and Neowiz studios. It was the South Korean studio that revealed they decided to cancel the agreement for publishing the game. Now they are going to focus on the Japanese release. Bless Online’s North American and European releases were substantially delayed to improve combat and other mechanics, there was even some previous talk about cancelation, and now it seems to be for good.

Gearbox’s competitive shooter Battleborn is now free to play
One more high profile game has moved into the realm of free-to-play: Gearbox’s shooter and MOBA hybrid Battleborn. Battleborn is now free to play on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and while Gearbox for some reason calls this a “free trial”, you can get all the ingredients of your usual free to play game: hero rotation (you get six heroes of the 30 in total), all game modes and maps and no progress or time limits. If you want to play the story mode, however, you’ll have to purchase it, as well as things such as heroes, cosmetics, boosters and all that jazz. It looks like Battleborn wasn’t good enough to take on Blizzard’s Overwatch, and in our opinion this move was a bit late.

Battlerite Lite is early free-to-play version, available this week
If you’re still not forking out a few quids for Battlerite but want desperately to play it when it goes free to play, well… Here’s Battlerite Lite for you. Stunlock Studios has revealed Battlerite Lite, an earlier version of what this game is going to be when it goes free to play late 2017. Battlerite Lite gives you access to six champions, while the others have to be unlocked with Battle Coins or real money. The rest of Battlerite remains the same and you can, of course, buy Early Access to get the full roster. There is a catch though – To begin with, Stunlock Studios will hand out two keys to every Early Access player who has verified their email address on their Battlerite account and signed up to the newsletter. You’ll only be able to play when you stumble across one of these keys, from a friend, for example.

Wonder Woman Gal Gadot is the face of League of Angels: Paradise Land
If you’ve already seen the Wonder Woman movie and became a fan of lead actress Gal Gadot, you’re not alone. The League of Angels series managed a genius marketing stunt by getting Wonder Woman Gal Gadot as its new face. She is mostly promoting the recently released turn-based mobile RPG League of Angels: Paradise Land and a TV commercial is already available.

Bethesda is recruiting for “AAA freemium game”, could it be…
Bethesda is looking for a Game Performance Manager for its Montreal studio to work on an unannounced freemium game. That’s free to play, in case you’re wondering. Of course, we can’t help but think that it could be the MMORPG Fallout Online, as Bethesda is sitting on the license for years. The job offer mentions “bleeding-edge AAA freemium”, which wouldn’t sit well with games such as Bethesda’s own Fallout Shelter or the CCG The Elder Scrolls Legends, also free to play games. Quake Champions is also on its way from Bethesda but it is already in an advanced development stage, so we’re ruling it out. Anyway, let’s hope it’s a true MMORPG, not another MOBA or something like that.

In other news:

– Crytek is going to show the first Hunt: Showdown gameplay during the upcoming E3 2017. This game is a revamped version of Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age and is described as a “PvP monster hunter”. The four-player co-op of the previous version is gone, and now we’re hearing about two players instead.

– NCSoft has announced the Master X Master official launch, no need for open beta here. You can play this awesome action RPG and MOBA hybrid starting June 21, in North America and Europe.

– Aeria Games is going to shut down Dragomon Hunter on June 29, after 17 months of operation in North America and Europe.

TERA: Lakan’s Fury expansion launched on June 6 and brings two new end-game dungeons.

– A new Secret World Legends video shows the revamped combat mechanics that you’ll find in this shared-world RPG when it releases on June 26. The new mechanics are described by the devs as having a more “third-person shooter or an action RPG” feel to it.

– ARMA developer Bohemia Interactive has revealed a full and free release for the tactical FPS Argo, which started as an experimental total conversion of Arma 3.

‘Find the Game’ Quiz

If you’re an anime fan, you’ve probably waited for this game for a long time. And you’re still waiting. And waiting. An exciting anime RPG brawler, this game features some lovely visuals (certainly one of the best looking free to play games) and furious combos, and while it’s coming to the west, there’s this deafening silence going on for a while. The first one to write the answer in the comments will see his name featured in the next Free to Play Unlimited episode.

Most Wanted: Dauntless

With no signs of Monster Hunter Online coming west, we focus our attention on Dauntless, which is looking really awesome. In Dauntless, up to four players go out in the wilderness to hunt behemoths with very unique looks and abilities. Up until now, we didn’t know how the hub city of Ramsgate looked like, but a new video just showed a bit of this place where you can craft new and amazing armor, use some dyes and marvel at the weird transportation system of these floating isles. Dauntless is a free to play game exclusive for PC and the closed beta is coming during this summer, with the open beta planned for the fall.
